Mishcon  said that as part of a listing every member of staff would become a shareholder in the listed business.

The firm would join a handful of law firms on the public markets if its listing goes ahead. These include DWF, Knights and Gateley.

The London-based firm is best known for having been Princess Diana’s law firm and advising Gina Miller on the Article 50 Brexit litigation.

The firm also played a prominent role in litigation over business interruption insurance during the fallout from the Covid-19 pandemic last year.

It expects to report revenue of approximately £188m for the 12 months to 9 April 2021.

Mishcon chair Kevin Gold said: “[A listing] will enable us to invest in talent, our core areas, our allied services, as well as technology and Asia. I am also proud that my partners have decided to award shares to all staff. It means every single one of our people will have a meaningful stake in our business.”

Mishcon also said it “continues to engage with the Solicitors Regulation Authority on historic matters which it reported to the SRA”.

Mishcon’s listing plans were first reported by The Lawyer Magazine.
