Jorge Masvidal responds to ‘quitter’ Michael Chandler’s BMF title callout: ‘Me killing this guy doesn’t accumulate anything else for me’

Jorge Masvidal is no longer concerned about putting his BMF title on the road towards Michael Chandler — in particular since “Gamebred” has his sights put on the UFC welterweight championship.

Chandler called Masvidal out for a fan-friendly bout for Masvidal’s BMF title in present interviews — including on The MMA Hour — following the weak Bellator gentle-weight champion’s third-round submission loss to Dustin Poirier in a wild fight at UFC 281.

Masvidal, who is making ready for his MMA promotion’s next match iKON FC 6 this Friday night factual originate air of Orlando, Fla., answered to Chandler’s explain.

“Michael Chandler’s a quitter, man,” Masvidal told MMA Preventing. “That’s just like the foremost part to being a BMF. I saw him fight my boy Will Brooks, and Will Brooks hit that motherfso stressful he factual stop in the center of the [fight]. He turned reduction, shook his head and used to be like, ‘Nah, I’m achieved combating.’

“BMF my ass. That’s the foremost rule of being a BMF — you may well well per chance’t be a quitter. You may well lose, but you may well well per chance’t stop on yourself. You may well per chance’t stop. That conversation for the BMF belt? No, it ain’t happening. C’mon Chandler: I do know you don’t occupy a correct conception of the field, but that’s no longer happening.”

Masvidal is hoping to return to the octagon in “March or April,” preferably on the the same card featuring the trilogy fight for the welterweight championship between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman. The 38-year-used is hoping to turn things round and accumulate one other accelerate at a title shot after dropping his final three bouts — two to Usman, and to Colby Covington in his lone look in 2022 at UFC 272 in March.

While plenty of followers will be intrigued about a fight between two noteworthy and sturdy strikers, Masvidal factual doesn’t exclaim the juice will be charge the squeeze.

“That fight doesn’t accumulate anything else for me in the 170 pound rankings, or [getting to] the belt,” Masvidal talked about. “If he comes as much as the weight class and I hit up with a jab, and he turns into mud — he disintegrates, like indubitably one of those used statues that disintegrates to mud — you respect what other folks are going to divulge? They’ll mutter, ‘Yeah, you’re supposed [to do that].’

“However let it be a bit little bit of a fight, or anything else like that. I don’t watch any distress-reward with this fight. Me killing this guy doesn’t accumulate anything else for me, or my profession, so I truly don’t care about it. He’s no longer essentially a pay-per-question seller both. I’m no longer saying I obtained’t entertain it sooner or later, but to actually mutter there shall be a total match [built around] it, or whatever he’s plotting in his head? Nah, doubtlessly no longer, bro.”

In Masvidal’s thoughts, if there’s one fighter in the gentle-weight division who may well well stake a divulge for the BMF title, it can well be the man who factual defeated Chandler.

“You already know who is a BMF? Dustin, but I ain’t going to fight Dustin because of that’s my boy,” Masvidal defined. “Dustin by no manner quits. Dustin presents all he’s fobtained to bewitch motherfout.

“He took Chandler’s easiest and talked about, ‘What?’ Pop! That’s a BMF. There’s plenty of BMF’s in this sport, but Chandler ain’t on of them. You may well per chance’t be quitting in fights. You may well per chance’t be quitting in the center of a fight. Automatically disqualified. Sorry, Chandler.”
